Aditya Roy Kapur CONFIRMS collaboration with Raj & DK for Rakt Brahmand; actor calls prep “intense but enjoyable”

Aditya Roy Kapur has completed the first shooting schedule for Raj and DK’s Rakt Brahmand – The Bloody Kingdom. The talented actor is back in action, teaming up with the acclaimed filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Following his OTT success in The Night Manager, Aditya is set to star in this action-fantasy series, which will stream on Netflix. The series is directed by Rahi Anil Barve, known for his work on Tumbbad.

The first filming segment took place in Mumbai, but it wasn’t an easy task for Aditya. To fully embody his character, he underwent three months of rigorous training in various physical art forms, including sword fighting, weaponry, horse riding, and archery.

Raj and DK shared their thoughts with Hindustan Times, stating, “At the heart of Rakt Brahmand is a character that demands strength, intensity, and a bit of wackiness, and Aditya brings all of that as the lead. He’s been training very hard to meet the demands of the character. Our goal with this show is to create a world that is both original and evokes the fantastical tales we grew up hearing.”

Expressing his excitement, Aditya Roy Kapur said, “I’ve been a fan of Raj and DK’s work, and they are always finding ways to tell stories in new and exciting ways. The passion they have for this project is infectious, and the vision they have is so unique and genre-bending.”

Returning to the action genre after his role in the 2020 film Malang, Aditya remarked, “The prep has been intense. But one of the most enjoyable perks of being an actor is the opportunity to pick up new skills. This show has me doing that in spades, with everything from sword fighting to archery and horse riding. But possibly even more important than the physical work is the huge amount of mental preparation, which I’ve been relishing.”

Karan Johar wishes Aditya Roy Kapur

Acclaimed filmmaker Karan Johar took to his Instagram stories to wish Aditya for his upcoming Raj & DJ film, Rakt Brahmand. He wrote, “Congratulations Adi! Can’t wait to see the Raj DK magic work wonders with you.”

As production moves forward, Rakt Brahmand is set to enter its second shooting phase soon. It promises to deliver an exciting and original viewing experience!
